About
Leaving Her Stamp
It Started With a Need
You can thank my husband.
Yellow Bess began when my husband asked for help creating stamps for his client service business. What started as a simple project quickly became something I couldn't stop thinking about. I loved the process of turning an idea into something both beautiful and useful, and before long I found myself making stamps for others as well.
A Little Robin's Egg Blue
As the business grew, my husband suggested something that would make my stamps stand out from the rest: painted handles.
I've always loved the color of robin's egg blue, so I started hand-painting every wooden stamp handle that cheerful shade. Years later, it remains a signature part of Yellow Bess and a reminder that practical things can be beautiful too.
Small Space, Big Dreams
For many years, Yellow Bess operated out of whatever space I could find. At one point, that meant working from an Airstream converted into a tiny office and studio.
As a mom of three, I built the business during nap times, school hours, and late nights. It wasn't always glamorous, but it allowed me to grow something I truly loved while raising my family.

Growing Through COVID
When the world slowed down during COVID, Yellow Bess unexpectedly sped up.
Orders increased, new customers found my shop, and what had once been a side business became something much larger. I quickly realized I had outgrown my workspace and needed room to expand.
So we built a studio in our backyard.
Having a dedicated space changed everything. It allowed me to grow beyond stamps and begin creating a wider collection of personalized gifts, home goods, teacher gifts, pet gifts, handmade pieces, and seasonal favorites.
More Than Stamps
Today, Yellow Bess is still known for custom stamps, but it has grown into something much bigger: a collection of meaningful, personalized gifts designed to celebrate life's moments, both big and small.
Whether you're shopping for a teacher, a newlywed, a pet lover, a small business owner, or simply someone who deserves a thoughtful gift, my goal is the same—to create something they'll use, love, and want to keep.
Thank You
Every order placed with Yellow Bess supports a female-owned small business, a family, and a dream that started with a single stamp.
Thank you for being here. It truly means the world.
